Week 2

Admirals @ Galaxy 14-23
Part Two

By: Teflon.

Pictures: Velcro.

Of course there was also a game to watch, but we'd actually rather not be reminded of it too much.

The big boys take the field for some pre-game warm ups.

Some of the cheerleaders had made the trip, especially for us.

Triple A, before we were told again to sit down by security

image
Would you give this guy a press pass?

image
Prophetic: that was where the game was headed

image
Very depressing indeed. HOW can you deliver a 14 point stomping in the first quarter and then suck so badly?

image
Waving goodbye, before being tossed out the stadium. It seemed he took the Admirals offense with him.

image
After such a depressing ending, all that was left was the BPM competition...

image
...but the winners have to be the Trench Crew, with this magnificant entry!

Offense
pic
Opened can of whup-ass in the first quarter, then promptly lost said can.

Played uninspired, made many mistakes. Some bad calls from the refs didn't help, but they can certainly not be blamed for the bottom line. This sucked guys, even worse for getting our hopes up in the first quarter like that.

Defense
pic
If the offense isn't at home, it's up to the defense to step up. The Galaxy did not play that well, the defense should have clamped down. Instead, they allowed 175 yards rushing. If I hear "first down, Galloway!" one more time...

Special Teams
pic
Didn't miss any field goals. Actually prevented one Galaxy one and tipped an extra point attempt. Nice average punting distance.

Coaching
pic
A good coach could have put the fire back in the team at half time. Alas, no Luginbill-esque speeches and a scoreless second half for the Admirals. Lets hope Andrus can pull the team together for the game against Berlin, otherwise this could be a long season. To be honest though, the Admirals did not look terrible, just very uninspired and played without concentration.

Fan Support
Between 50 and 70. It really seems the Admirals fans have discovered the joys of away games. After the Fire and the Galaxy, the Admirals now seem to have the biggest core of traveling fans.
