The Amsterdam Admirals touched down in Amsterdam on flight BA8115 at Schiphol Airport on Thursday afternoon and disembarked to the sight of the waiting hordes of 50% of the Trench Crew. Yep, that's right, Velcro as the lucky holder of a Schiphol Airport Airside Pass was there to greet the team as they came off the plane.

The team was led by new coach Bart Andrus, who was first to shake Velcro's hand, thus ensuring that he entered the Netherlands with the foot and mouth disease. The old favourites were delighted to see that Admirals Supporters will not let an annoying thing like work get in their way of supporting the team, and words of welcome were exchanged with Jon Kirksey and Silvio Diliberto, who made his views on the Admirals chances quite clear for our intrepid reporter.

From my view point the team looked like they were all quite happy despite the long flight from Tampa Bay ( via London ) and they seemed to be mixing well. The team were especially pleased to see that 25 or so Admirals fans had fought through train strikes to welcome them to Amsterdam.

It was difficult to determine who had more camera's, the players or the fans, but we reackon that the players had it by a short head. The team is here and now on to Max Euweplain this Saturday afternoon where everybody can see, meet and greet the team.

"What the ... how did this fan get into the Gate?"
