TRENCH OF FAME

The rules:

The Trench of Fame is our little corner of the NFL Europe World where the Trench Crew pay homage to the people who have made this league what it is today. Exactly what it is today is anybody's guess, but as we are usually drunk we hope that we never manage to figure it out.

Qualification for The Trench of Fame is restricted to the following categories of people:
  1. Ex-players of The Amsterdam Admirals, or any other team in the history of NFL Europe, oh and the World League of American Football as well. Active players cannot be considered for induction, a year of not playing or obvious success in the NFL are sufficient grounds to consider a player retired from NFL Europe.
  2. Coaches. Coaches become eligible for Trench of Fame enshrinement as soon as they announce that they shall not return to NFL Europe.
  3. Other league staff. Other league staff may be considered at the end of the season when they perform any action that truly enhances the fan enjoyment of the league. They may continue to be employed in their function thereafter - honest we won't sue.
  4. People not formally connected to the League. Fans, Fan organisers, Random millionaires who bail us out of prison (See World Bowl '98) or anyone who needs to be bribed beyond all recognition.

In order to keep the Trench of Fame within limits and to keep enshrinement a sought after privelege, the maximum class size shall be limited to 5 linemen. Membership of the Trench of Fame for non linemen can account for no more than half the number of selected linemen. For example, 4 linemen and 2 non linemen could be selected.

Before the start of the NFL Playoff the Candidates for the Trench of Fame are announced. This list is restricted to a maximum of 10 people. Members of Admiraldom are invited to submit votes, but the panel has final say.

The announcement of the enshrinees shall be during the Superbowl Pre-game party held at The Globe Sports Bar in Amsterdam on Super Sunday.

Where practical the Trench Crew shall endevour to induct members of the Trench personally. And if that means going to the USA and see games of Football, then we'll just have to suffer that hardship.

With each Trench of Fame class to be inducted the Trench Crew shall accept special pleas from other people to induct up to two extra members who have contributed especially to the life of NFL Europe.
