The Trench Crew Evolves
And how we fit in Triple A
By: Teflon. |
Where was the website in 2002?
You may have been wondering what happened to the site last year. Basically,
the season turned a lot more hectic than we planned for, making it impossible
to keep up with normal life, let alone a website. The main reason for this
was the growth of the Trench Crew. In 2001, we were finally joined by two
fans who were as crazy as ourselves (the Hell of Shame boys) and did all
the games between the four of us. Last year, the group grew to about two
dozen people. While this is fantastic, it does make organizing trips and
events a lot more difficult. We are still dead against any sort of 'official'
fanclub status, but we have now grouped ourselves together as 'Triple A'.
Take a look at the Triple A website to find out more about what Triple
A is about. Suffice it to say that the Trench Crew duo still exists, we
are just part of a larger group now.
Joining Triple A.
It is at the same time very easy and very difficult to join Triple A. Basically, we
are not a fanclub, but a group of friends who go to games together. So come and hang
out with us, play some ball. If we like you and you like us, you basically are
an automatic member. Just don't ask 'can I be a member??'. It doesn't mean anything
anyway. 'Official member of Triple A' is a ridiculous title. It is like saying
'official mate of Velcro, Bacches, Michel, Teflon, Kings of Kling...'.
Future of the Trench Crew.
Triple A might seem to make the Trench Crew obsolete, but that's not true.
We will still try and produce our weekly game reports, provide assistance
for away fans and get some more Dutch football tutorials written. It is
even possible that Triple A will dissolve in the future as a unit. Simply
because we do not want to get organized, even though a larger group requires
it. But one thing is for sure: the Trench Crew will still hurl abuse in
the general direction of crappy plays!
