Flag football folly

Fanday 2005 had finally arrived and of course Triple A were to make an appearance at the annual flag football tournament. Due to slightly lackluster AAA attendance, we were just barely able to field one team.

In fact, we even needed to borrow one of the Fredmirals' clan to fill out the five man squad! And, as you can see below, it only took one game to reduce that to a four man squad. Poor 'Snap' lived up to his reputation and twisted his ankle.

But, not to worry! We quickly drafted another enthusiastic player (read: bribed a poor misguided bystander with the promise of beer) and were off to the second game. Our center especially performed heroically as the pictures will testify.

Hey, I scored a touchdown, complained a lot about the over- and underthrown passes going vaguely in my direction and I only got hit in the face with a ball once, I call that a heroic performance.

Ah, well, we lost all three games, but had a valid excuse: beer. As long as the Admirals don't make the same mistake, it should shape up to be a pretty good season!
